Product Description

Handmade nail art by C. A. Therien. This nail art is made with Premo and Fimo polymer clays. This item looks best on the nail when used with acrylic or gel nail enhancement. It can be used with clear nail polish, but the results are not as good.

How to use this Nail Art:

How to apply the slices to the nail, using gel or acrylic:
1) Apply a thin layer of product to the nail.

1b) For gel, cure the layer 1 minute. Then add slices of clay nail art, being careful not to overlap the edges of the slices. Slices can be trimmed or cut as desired to achieve a clustered look by placing the slices so they touch. Lay a small square of plastic wrap over the nail and finger, and press the plastic snugly around the finger. Adjust position of slices if necessary by nudging them back into place through the plastic. Place nail under lamp for 1 minute, being careful to keep plastic wrap snug around finger.

1c) For acrylic, place the slices into the product while it is tacky. Press the edges of the slices down with a manicure stick.

1d) If desired, slices can be glued in place onto cured product: Place a small amount of glue where desired and lay the cane slice on top, pressing the edges of the slice into the glue with two wooden sticks, or with a finger wrapped in plastic wrap (I prefer this method).

2) Spread a layer of product over the slices to seal them in and create a smooth surface. Cure the layer. Repeat. File and finish as desired.

3) Clear acrylic nail polish can be used, but three or more coats may be needed before the surface of the nail is completely smooth, and the cane slices may need gentle filing with a nail file between the first two coats of polish. This isn't the best method, but if you don't want to use the acrylic or gel, this is an option.

The slices will last the life of the nail, and will not chip or flake off. To remove slices: file through product, and slices will file out with product. If completely removing nail enhancement by soaking, the nail art will come off with the nail product.

The Fimo Nail Art canes and slices will last indefinitely when stored in a warm, dry place away from direct sunlight. All polymer clay nail art is best used at temperatures above 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

As with all handmade products, small variations may occur in size, color, or design.
